And enjoying cooking,

and eating

in the large kitchen-with-a-view
Detached former farmhouse with sunny private garden.

For rent with one to four bedrooms and two bathrooms, it is a flexible suitable house for two, but also suitable for six adults and one or two babies or toddlers. The spacious sunny garden offers a lot of privacy and is surrounded by meadows. There will never be other guests in the house at when you are staying there, whether you come alone or with a party of six.
The living quarters are on the 1st floor, on the ground floor there is a second bathroom and a washing room.
In other parts of the ground floor, the ceilings are so low that they no longer meet modern standards. We have a small office and pantry for our private use. When there are guests, we won't use these spaces, so your privacy in the house and the garden is guaranteed.

Vennbahn and Railbike tracks

De Vennbahn tussen Monschau en Sourbrodt
Plenty to do, year-round.

You can enjoy unlimited walks all year round in the rugged High Fens and in the Eifel, from small detours to challenging day marches.
And of course you can cycle on the famous Vennbahn cycle path, which runs along the village and leads through a particularly beautiful landscape. With a rate of increase of up to 3%, it is a perfect and relaxing way to discover the area. The Vennbahn will also take you close to Monschau. The area also offers plenty of challenges for cyclists with mountain experience and for mountain bike enthousiasts.

There are several reservoirs in the area, where you can swim and practice other water sports.
In winter you can often also practice winter sports. There are cross-country trails in Kalterherberg and in many of the surrounding villages. At a 15-20 minutes drive you will find an downhill slope and toboggan.

The High Fens.

The High Fens have their own climate, the average temperature is 5 degrees lower than, for example, in the rest of Belgium or the Netherlands. As a result, there are plants and animals that you will not find elsewhere in the low countries. The winters are of course also colder and therefore there is a much better chance of snow here.

There are several nature centers in the area, where you will find information and expostions about the special nature of this rugged area and from where many guided walks depart. In the house there is also information about our special area and what to do and discover.

Fox in winter time - Irma van Gog
Nature in your own garden.

In the season (from spring to autumn), you can enjoy red kites every day, sometimes flying very low in their search for prey. Wonderful to watch, just from the terrace, this largest bird of prey in our area! And of course there are also plenty of other (predatory) birds to enjoy. You also have a good chance of seeing foxes and also roe deer.

Take your time..

In the Eifel everyone seems a little more relaxed, most people are not in much of a hurry. It may well happen that you have to wait for a bit at the village supermarket, because the customer in front of has a chat with the cashier. Nobody minds.

Additional information related to your stay

We have worked hard for two years to renovate the house and are very happy with the result. Of course we hope that all our guests will enjoy a very nice holiday, whether they come for the special nature of the High Fens, the nice towns and villages in the area, to relax with a good book in the garden, or especially to be active in sports.

Our house is a non-smoking home. Of course you can smoke in the garden, but we ask you not to smoke indoors. We would also like to be able to welcome guests with allergies to our holiday home. Therefore, unfortunately, you can not bring your pets.

We hope to receive you soon in our beautiful holiday home and wish you a wonderful holiday in advance!
